Krabi

November 16 & 17

After arriving in Krabi last night, from Koh Phi Phi, we checked in to the Maritime Park and Spa Resort .   It is a large place with spacious rooms, extensive grounds featuring large pools, waterways and gardens, plus restaurants designed to accommodate large tour groups.

We took long walks around Krabi where restaurants and stores offer many of the same goods and brands one would find in North America.

On the street, vendors sell more traditional Thai foods as well as corn on the cob.
A street corner boasts four statues of cave men holding traffic lights, commemorating the finding of human bones and skeletons near Krabi dating back 43,000 and 27,000 years respectively.  We found an internet shop, did some emailing and then walked
into the non-tourist, non-commercial part of town.

Peeking into school windows, we read English from the board with the students.   Outside others posed for the camera and practicing their English "Hello"s.
Returning to the hotel, we watched the sunset while floating in the huge pool.  Continued to treat our sunburned backs and stayed out of the sun as much as possible.

Signed up for a day trip tomorrow to see Pha-Nga Bay with cave canoeing, James Bond Island and the floating Muslim village.
